Amanda Sherrell

Born in 1978, Andrews, North Carolina to Roy Underwood a politician/businessman and his wife Kay (neé Jones-Graham). Growing up in part Appalachian in Western North Carolina and Northeast Georgia has played a key role in influencing Amanda with her wit and wisdom as well as her passion for speaking and her story telling.

Amanda has authored 2 books. The Wisdom Seeker: Tweets of Wisdom (2012) and Freedom’s Pursuit: The Mystery Girl (2025), and she is currently working on a sequel.

When Amanda is not writing books she is an English Tutor and Blogger for Country Girl Gone City. And in between times she is a caregiver for her husband who was born with an exceedingly rare disease called Fanconi Anemia for which the two of them spend a lot of time in Manhattan for his various cancer treatments. But when she is not doing this she enjoys time at her country home with their dog Chenille, cats Mocha, Tiffany, Zoey and their fosters as well as some chickens that she has hand raised from chicks. She enjoys calling them her chickies.
