Let’s get something straight: true faith is not for the faint of heart. This isn’t about floating through life with angel wings and harp strings — this is war. It’s about dragging your cross through enemy territory with blood on your brow and fire in your soul. That’s part of why I have been writing some pretty intense music lately, it’s not meant for everyone but it is meant to reach certain people and shake them into thinking about their own choices, because living true faith is intense. And this is what one of my songs is all about, “True Grit, True Faith,” is all about and I look forward to being able to share it with you in the future along with others. It’s the real, raw truth of living for Christ in a world that wants you dead or silent.
Lately, I’ve seen more and more people on social media, people who once claimed to walk with God, now spitting bitterness. When life didn’t go the way they wanted — whether from their own choices or the fallout of others’ decisions — they turned on God. Instead of repentance, they blamed Him. Instead of humility, they broadcasted their resentment, trying to poison the faith of others.
Let me be blunt: that is dangerous ground. And I won’t tiptoe around it anymore. When you twist your pain into a weapon against the faithful, you are not just complaining — you are recruiting casualties for the enemy. I called them out, not because I’m angry (even though I am), but because I love truth too much to watch it get trampled. I told them what they needed to hear: own your choices, repent, and apologize to God before bitterness eats you alive.
Look, none of us have it easy. Every believer has their own cross to carry — chronic pain, grief, betrayal, loss, weakness, injustice. You name it. Jesus Himself didn’t skate by. He was mocked, beaten, crucified — and never once sinned. So if you’re struggling and feel like giving up, don’t. Pick up your cross and keep going. True faith is not for comfort; it’s for conquest. You fight not with fists but with prayer. You bleed, but you don’t break. You cry, but you rise.
“If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
—Luke 9:23
So in summary, faith isn’t easy. It costs. It’s war. But it’s also worth it. Don’t let hardship become your excuse to walk away from the God who walked through hell to save you. Rebuke the bitterness. Remember your King. Get back up. Because true faith isn’t soft—it’s true grit.
