As I look back on 24 unforgettable years with my husband Dexter, I’m reminded of Bryan Adams’ song, “Everything I Do, I Do It for You.” These words reflect the devotion and love that have defined our journey together. Over the years, we’ve faced immense challenges—my struggles with Endometriosis, Pituitary Brain Tumors, and the pains of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. All the while my husband’s battles with E. Coli poisoning, Sepsis, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Acute Leukemia, and most recently, liver cancer have shown him to be a true champion. Every one of these obstacles could have tested our bond, but instead, they brought us closer, deepening our connection in ways I never imagined.

Through these trials, we’ve become each other’s caretakers and champions. I’ve watched Dexter fight for his life, and in turn, he’s supported me in my struggles. Our love has only grown fiercer, with every challenge reinforcing the profound strength of our partnership. What makes me even prouder is Dexter’s resilience—despite everything, he has excelled in life, continuing his education and earning multiple honors while pursuing his second Bachelor’s degree in IT and Cyber Security. His determination to not only survive but thrive amazes me every day.
In between the hard times, I’ve been fighting for us too—running multiple businesses, becoming an artist in various mediums, and even writing a book. But none of that compares to Dexter’s strength and all he has done for me. He is my rock, my inspiration, and my greatest love.
Dexter, everything I do is for you, and I couldn’t be prouder to call you my husband. Here’s to 24 years of love, resilience, and an unbreakable bond that will continue to grow for years to come.
