Hello, dear readers! I apologize for not being able to post last week, but as you’ll soon learn, it’s been quite an eventful time for me. Let me take you through the ups and downs of my past week, which started with a restful Memorial weekend and ended with an unforeseen accident.
The long weekend was a perfect time to unwind and relax with my hubby at home. We took a break from our usual routines to indulge in some soothing activities, like painting and watching Memorial Day movies. I’ve always found solace in the gentle brushstrokes of painting, and this time was no different. Inspired by the beauty of nature, I painted a beautiful cherry tree with delicate blossoms, which now adds a touch of serenity to my bathroom.
As the weekend progressed, we continued to enjoy ourselves thoroughly. We spent quality time together, cherishing the simple moments and the opportunity to slow down our busy lives. Our beloved dog, Chenille, was a constant source of joy, accompanying us on every adventure.
Then, at the beginning of the week, we decided to venture outdoors to explore a (rather deep and forceful) creek in our area. The sun was shining, and the water was inviting, but my hubby was cautious about me going in. So he had me set up on the bank and tip my toes in. Unfortunately, that did not work out and little did I know that this seemingly harmless activity would take a dangerous turn. As I slipped down the bank and into the water.
At which point I found myself having to wade back to an area where I could get out. And as I was wading through the water, I suddenly lost my balance and fell in. The current was stronger than I had anticipated, and in the blink of an eye, I was submerged and hit my head on a rock. Thankfully, my hubby and Chenille sprang into action, rescuing me from the treacherous waters.
Unfortunately, despite their valiant efforts, I was not unscathed. We rushed to the emergency room, where I spent part of the night undergoing various tests. The doctors diagnosed me with a bad concussion and significant hearing loss. As you can imagine, this was quite a blow, and it’s been a slow and challenging journey back to normalcy.

Recovery has been a gradual process, and I’m doing my best to remain hopeful and optimistic. I’m grateful for the love and support of my hubby, who has been by my side throughout this ordeal. We’re praying that my hearing will return soon, and I’m determined to come back stronger than ever.
In the meantime, I want to thank you all for your patience and understanding. I promise to keep you updated on my progress, and I can’t wait to share more of my adventures with you once I’m back on my feet. Until then, take care and treasure every moment, as you never know what life has in store for you.
